Supporting Americans in Need
Project Food Box was born out of our participation in the USDA’s “Farmers to Families” program which launched in 2020 to offset food insecurity caused by the pandemic. Our mission is to enhance this successful program and continue building an equitable food system for Americans across the nation.
Our ServicesProduce To
The People
While most research on food access focuses on post-harvest distribution and retail systems, recent studies highlight challenges at the farm level.
Why? Until now, farmers faced barriers to selling certain crops and lacked the resources to harvest them. At the same time, millions of Americans struggle to access fresh, nutritious food.
Our concept is simple: everyone deserves access to high-quality produce. Our mission is to bridge this gap by bringing fresh, nourishing food to communities while ensuring farmers receive fair compensation for their crops.

What is Project FoodBox?
We design “Food as Medicine” programs to empower individuals to manage their own wellness journey to resolve chronic illnesses through fresh, local produce, delivered directly to their doorsteps.
What is Medically Tailored Food?
Medically tailored groceries are whole food grocery items specifically designed to meet the nutritional needs of individuals with chronic illnesses or health conditions. Groceries will generally contain fresh produce, whole grains, and nutrient dense proteins, while eliminating consumption of highly processed food items.
How can food as medicine programs benefit me?
Food as medicine program benefits include better access to nutritious foods, nutritional education opportunities, and the ability to start creating better eating habits to take control of your health journey.
What is Food as Medicine?
Food as medicine is the belief that access to healthy and nutritious food is essential for well-being. This approach emphasizes the use of whole, nutrient-dense foods to address specific health conditions, improve overall well-being, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and obesity.
What does a food box contain?
A sample menu from Project FoodBox contains 15-18 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables, including: Lettuce, Avocados, Strawberries, Cucumbers, Melons, Corn, Rice, Cabbage, Blueberries, Spinach, Squash, and more. Each week our items vary based on seasonality and local availability.
